Site Security Head

About the role

The Site Security Head provides strategic leadership for estate security, protecting people, assets, operations, information and business continuity. The role leads an integrated approach across physical security, digital guarding, investigations, loss prevention, community policing and emergency response, and drives the move from labour-intensive guarding to an intelligence-led, technology-enabled model using drones, sensors, CCTV, alarms, access controls and analytics. It also oversees outsourced security services and advises site leadership on threats, risks, emergency preparedness and security investments.

Key responsibilities

• Define and lead the estate security strategy aligned to operational continuity, employee safety, asset protection and site risk priorities.
• Assess current and emerging security threats across agricultural operations, factories, warehouses, offices, residences, utilities and critical infrastructure.
• Lead the transition to digital guarding and develop a phased security technology roadmap based on risk, coverage and business value.
• Review guarding requirements and recommend deployment changes where technology offers effective, sustainable coverage.
• Establish security policies, standards and controls covering guarding, surveillance, investigations, community policing, access control and emergency response.
• Monitor security performance, incident trends, investigations, contractor performance and technology effectiveness.
• Oversee outsourced security services for coverage, conduct, responsiveness and value for money.
• Lead investigations, security intelligence, loss prevention and evidence management, and major security incidents, escalating criminal, legal or disciplinary matters appropriately.
• Liaise with law enforcement and community security structures.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Security Management, Risk Management, Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement, Business Administration or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years' progressive experience in corporate security, law enforcement, military security, investigations, intelligence, emergency response or security risk management.
• Experience in security strategy, risk assessment, investigations and loss prevention.
• Experience overseeing outsourced security services and contractor performance.
• Preferred: professional certification in security management, investigation, fraud examination, emergency management or security technology.

Required skills

• Knowledge of technology-enabled security solutions such as CCTV, drones, sensors, alarms, access controls and integrated monitoring systems.
• Experience in security governance, emergency preparedness and major incident management.
