Shift Supervisor – Laboratory Sample Preparation

About the role

The Shift Supervisor will oversee the preparation and analysis of mineral samples in a laboratory environment, ensuring client requirements are fully understood and met. The role demands strict confidentiality, adherence to laboratory standards, and effective prioritisation of tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret client specifications for sample preparation and analysis.
• Ensure all samples are handled with the highest level of security and confidentiality.
• Supervise the correct execution of laboratory procedures and standards.
• Manage daily priorities and workflow to meet production targets.
• Maintain clear communication with customers regarding sample status and results.

Required profile

• Diploma in Laboratory Technology or an equivalent qualification.
• Minimum five years’ experience in a minerals laboratory.
• Strong customer liaison abilities.
• High level of computer literacy.
• Medically fit and able to work in a laboratory setting.
• Proficient in English with good communication skills.
