Senior Recreation Leader

About the role

The Senior Recreation Leader oversees and delivers engaging recreational programs for children at a community daycare facility. Working under the Site Supervisor, you will plan, coordinate, and supervise activities, ensuring a safe and fun environment for participants.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, organize and lead a diverse range of indoor and outdoor games and activities.
• Supervise children, maintain discipline, and act as on‑site manager in the supervisor’s absence.
• Provide routine first aid and enforce safety precautions for participants and spectators.
• Inspect playground equipment, recommend maintenance, and keep facilities clean.
• Assist with administrative tasks, field‑trip chaperoning, and equipment inventory.
• Mentor junior Recreation Leaders and foster positive relationships with parents, schools, and staff.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum two years of experience working with children in a recreational or childcare setting.
• Ability to supervise, communicate effectively with children and adults, and enforce agency policies.
• First‑aid certification preferred.

• Part‑time schedule: M, T, Th, F 1 pm‑6 pm; W noon‑6 pm.
• Hourly wage ranging from $22.79 to $35.37.
