Remote CMS Developer (Contract)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced CMS Developer to design, build, and maintain custom Content Management System applications for our remote team. The role involves creating robust architectures, custom themes and plugins, and delivering responsive, secure web experiences that meet brand standards.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and scale custom CMS solutions (WordPress, Drupal, Craft CMS, Magento).
• Build custom themes, modules, and plugins from scratch.
• Implement responsive designs, ensure cross‑browser compatibility, and optimise performance.
• Configure custom post types, fields and editorial workflows for non‑technical users.
• Maintain site security, backups, updates and user authentication.
• Apply technical SEO best practices and integrate third‑party APIs, CRM systems, and analytics tools.
• Collaborate daily with UI/UX designers, back‑end developers and content stakeholders.
• Document code and technical decisions for future maintenance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Web Development or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years of professional software development focused on CMS platforms.
• Proven ability to work independently in a fully remote environment.
• Strong debugging, troubleshooting and attention to design detail.

Required skills

• HTML5, CSS3 (Flexbox/Grid), JavaScript (ES6+).
• Server‑side programming: PHP, Python, Ruby.
• Extensive experience with WordPress, Drupal, Craft CMS, Magento.
• API integration and database management.
• Custom backend architecture and technical SEO implementation.
