Program Support Specialist II – Complementary Interventions

About the role

The Program Support Specialist II will provide subject‑matter expertise for the design and implementation of Complementary Interventions projects in Malawi. Working from the National Office in Lilongwe, the specialist will partner with Frontline Church Partners to identify community needs and deliver projects that support holistic child development.

Key responsibilities

• Assess community and partner needs for interventions such as WaSH facilities, classrooms, disaster response, income‑generation and parental education.
• Support Frontline Church Partners in writing funding proposals and managing project implementation.
• Monitor project progress, compile reports and ensure proper use of funds.
• Consolidate national and local data to identify gaps, develop and maintain strategies within the area of expertise.
• Provide coaching and knowledge to partnership facilitators, cross‑functional staff and managers.
• Uphold Compassion’s child protection policies, cultural behaviors and Christian witness.

Required profile

• Personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a Christ‑like attitude in all interactions.
• Commitment to child protection and adherence to Compassion’s Code of Conduct.
• Ability to assess needs, design programs and support implementation in a humanitarian context.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with national office staff and church partners.
