Plant Operator

About the role

The Plant Operator ensures safe, continuous, and efficient production, storage, and distribution of medical oxygen for health facilities in Neno District. Working closely with biomedical technicians and engineers, the operator supports the oxygen generation system and related biomedical equipment to guarantee uninterrupted oxygen supply for patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Operate the PSA oxygen plant following SOPs, manufacturer guidelines, and safety standards.
• Monitor plant parameters such as oxygen purity, pressure, compressor performance, and system alarms, recording data in UPKEEP and CommCare.
• Maintain daily production logs, equipment inspections, and cylinder inventory, coordinating distribution to health facilities.
• Support preventive maintenance schedules and perform routine inspections of compressors, dryers, manifolds, and piping.
• Troubleshoot equipment faults, report abnormalities, and assist biomedical teams with technical issues.
• Assist with oxygen supply logistics for neighboring districts as required.

Required profile

• Technical background with experience in operating industrial gas or medical oxygen plants.
• Strong safety awareness and ability to work in a healthcare environment.
• Attention to detail for accurate record‑keeping and reporting.
• Ability to collaborate with biomedical and engineering staff.
