Finance & Budget Associate (G-6) – Fixed Term, Lilongwe

About the role

Under the supervision of the Budget Officer, the Finance & Budget Associate will support the effective management of financial resources, strengthening stewardship, compliance and operational efficiency. The role provides accurate information, analysis and reporting to support risk‑informed decision‑making and organizational performance.

Key responsibilities

• Support finance and budget planning, monitoring, reporting and follow‑up.
• Maintain reliable financial data and perform analysis to identify issues and opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with donor requirements, internal controls and UNICEF financial policies.
• Collaborate with programme and operations teams to promote transparent and efficient resource management.
• Provide timely financial reports and dashboards for decision‑makers.

Required profile

• Secondary education required; professional or university courses in finance, accounting or budgeting are highly desirable.
• Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in financial management, budget management, financial analysis, reporting, grant management, payroll, accounts payable/receivable, funds management, internal controls or donor compliance.
