Facility Maintenance Coordinator

About the role

The Facility Maintenance Coordinator will oversee daily maintenance activities at CURE’s hospital in Blantyre, ensuring that buildings, water systems, grounds, furniture, non‑medical equipment and waste management are safe and functional. Working closely with the Facility Manager/Director, the role supports seamless operation of the hospital’s infrastructure and coordinates construction and renovation projects.

Key responsibilities

• Implement maintenance tasks defined by the Facility Manager/Director.
• Assist in planning, developing and executing approved construction and renovation projects.
• Maintain and update the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and train users.
• Act as internal auditor for work performed by external contractors.
• Prepare documentation for building projects, including bills of quantities, project plans, inspection and handover reports.
• Conduct annual audits of CMMS data and collaborate with the Facility Manager/Director to correct and update information.

Required profile

• Mid‑level experience in facility or building maintenance coordination, preferably in a healthcare setting.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple maintenance and construction tasks.
• Attention to detail for auditing contractor work and maintaining accurate records.
• Ability to work collaboratively with the Facility Manager, external contractors and internal teams.

Required skills

• Proficiency with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
