Engineering Manager

About the role

The Engineering Manager leads all engineering and maintenance activities for the hotel, ensuring the building, grounds and physical plant operate safely, efficiently and in compliance with regulations. This full‑time position reports to senior hotel management and oversees a team of technicians and external contractors.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the physical plant, including HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, water‑treatment, electrical and fire‑safety systems.
• Develop and control the engineering budget, capital‑expenditure projects and energy‑conservation initiatives.
• Create and administer service contracts, preventive‑maintenance schedules and work orders.
• Oversee maintenance of guest rooms, public areas, restaurants, vehicles and recreational facilities.
• Plan and execute renovation or new‑construction projects, obtain bids and supervise contractors.
• Ensure compliance with local building, zoning and fire‑prevention regulations.
• Conduct regular property inspections and coordinate guest‑satisfaction checks.
• Maintain inventory of parts, equipment and supplies.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED with at least 3 years of engineering/maintenance experience, **or** a 2‑year degree in Building & Construction, Engineering, Mechanics with at least 1 year of experience.
• Technical training in HVAC‑R, electrical and plumbing systems.
• Strong knowledge of preventive‑maintenance practices and regulatory compliance.
