Disability Inclusion Specialist

About the role

World Vision Malawi is seeking a Disability Inclusion Specialist to lead and strengthen disability‑inclusive child protection initiatives across the country. The role will shape program design, coordinate with partners, and ensure that children with disabilities receive equitable protection and support.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, design and implement disability‑related child protection initiatives.
• Provide input to develop inclusive programming, project models and M&E frameworks.
• Lead collaborative design processes with internal and external stakeholders.
• Offer technical expertise to project teams and area programmes.
• Develop concept notes and proposals for grants and PNS.
• Support inclusive emergency response and child‑safe compliance.
• Assess needs of children with disabilities and develop inclusive programs.
• Train staff and community members on disability inclusion and child protection.
• Advocate for child rights and disability inclusion at national and international levels.
• Network with NGOs, government bodies and disability organisations.
• Monitor, report, research and document program outcomes.

Required profile

• Proven experience in disability inclusion, child protection or related humanitarian programming.
• Strong understanding of monitoring and evaluation processes.
• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse partners and stakeholders.
• Excellent communication and advocacy skills.
• Experience in developing proposals and concept notes.
