Deputy Chief of Party – Commodity & School Feeding

About the role

The Deputy Chief of Party – Commodity & School Feeding will provide strategic and operational leadership for the TIWOLOKA project in Lilongwe, Malawi. Reporting to the Chief of Party, the incumbent will oversee commodity procurement, logistics and school‑feeding activities that support the USDA‑funded McGovern‑Dole Food for Education program.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the planning, procurement and distribution of food commodities for school‑feeding sites.
• Coordinate logistics, transport and storage to ensure timely delivery and compliance with donor requirements.
• Supervise and mentor project staff involved in commodity management and school‑feeding implementation.
• Monitor program performance, prepare regular reports and ensure financial and operational compliance.
• Engage with government ministries, NGOs and community partners to strengthen school‑feeding systems.
• Manage the project budget related to commodity and feeding activities.

Required profile

• Relevant university degree (e.g., logistics, supply chain, nutrition, development studies).
• Significant experience in commodity management and school‑feeding or nutrition programmes in humanitarian contexts.
• Proven project management experience, preferably in donor‑funded initiatives.
• Fluency in English and ability to work effectively in Malawi.
• Strong leadership and stakeholder‑engagement capabilities.
