Case Investigation Senior Coordinator

About the role

Lead the case investigation team in Malawi, managing audit execution, fraud prevention and internal controls to protect program integrity for smallholder farmers.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a team of 4–5 audit officers, conduct performance reviews and professional development.
• Develop the annual risk‑based audit plan, prioritize ad‑hoc fraud or harassment investigations.
• Conduct weekly quality checks on reports, shadow field investigations and coach staff.
• Investigate staff and farmer fraud, client harassment and "ghost farmers" while strengthening control frameworks.
• Collaborate with HR, Global Legal and Field Operations on cash recovery, high‑level investigations and anti‑fraud campaigns.
• Consolidate monthly audit reports, maintain trackers and populate the Global Client Protection Heatmap.
• Transition the team from traditional repayment audits to a dedicated case investigation unit.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Auditing, Accounting or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in internal/external auditing, risk‑based audit planning and compliance monitoring.
• Strong understanding of internal control frameworks and fraud investigation techniques.

Required skills

• Basic to intermediate SQL skills.
• Proficiency with a BI/visualisation tool such as Power BI or Superset.
