Camp Manager (Malawi)

About the role

The Camp Manager will lead all hospitality and operational functions of a camp in Malawi, ensuring service excellence, compliance, and financial performance. This role combines project management, client relations, and team leadership in a challenging environment.

Key responsibilities

• Take full accountability for project performance, adhering to scope, budget, and client requirements.
• Manage financials, including budgeting, petty cash, invoicing, and payment collection.
• Oversee stock control, accommodation, food services, bar, restaurant, and site‑wide cleaning operations.
• Coordinate special events, party catering, and additional catering services as needed.
• Maintain client relationships, address complaints, and ensure client satisfaction.
• Lead, develop, and manage site teams to meet service expectations.

Required profile

• Certificate, Diploma or Degree in Hospitality or related field; Project Management qualification is a plus.
• 3‑5 years of experience in camp or hospitality management.
• Strong commercial and financial acumen, including budgeting and cost control.
• Proven ability to operate under pressure in challenging environments.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Knowledge of HACCP, Health & Safety standards, and relevant legislation.
• Experience in banqueting, functions, VIP guest handling, and mass catering.
