Supply Chain Advisor – Malawi Activity

About the role

The Supply Chain Advisor will provide strategic and technical leadership for the Abt Global Central Mechanism’s supply‑chain portfolio in Malawi. Reporting to the Chief of Party, the advisor will work closely with the Ministry of Health, Central Medical Stores Trust, the Pharmacy and Medicines Regulatory Authority and other partners to strengthen commodity security and improve the performance, resilience and sustainability of Malawi’s public‑health supply chain.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain an integrated supply‑chain implementation plan with clear milestones, deliverables, dependencies and resource requirements.
• Attend country‑team milestone reviews, present performance evidence, identify risks and recommend corrective actions.
• Manage competing priorities while ensuring compliance with the statement of work, approved budget and contract terms.
• Escalate potential milestone failures, scope changes, funding pressures or sustainability concerns to the Chief of Party.
• Provide senior technical advice to the Government of Malawi on supply‑chain policy, governance, system design, implementation and transition priorities.

Required profile

• Significant experience in public‑health supply‑chain management, preferably in low‑resource settings.
• Proven ability to coordinate with government ministries, regulatory authorities and implementing partners.
• Strong analytical and planning skills with a track record of delivering results against defined milestones.
• Excellent communication skills for presenting evidence‑based recommendations to senior stakeholders.
