Print Media Journalism Internship – Multiple Locations

About the role

The School of Humanities and Social Sciences, in partnership with Nations Publications Limited, offers a two‑month internship for students to gain hands‑on experience in print media journalism. Interns will work alongside seasoned journalists and editors at NPL offices in Mzuzu, Lilongwe, and Blantyre.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with research and timely gathering of news data.
• Help draft news articles for both print and online platforms.
• Support editing and proofreading of newsletters, press releases, and website content.
• Schedule interviews and collate written and electronic data.
• Document and archive news articles and cover public events.

Required profile

• Third‑year student in any programme under the School of Humanities and Social Sciences.
• Overall GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Excellent writing and analytical abilities.
• Ability to work in a busy environment.
• Fluency in English and at least one local language.
• Willingness to work on a voluntary basis and cover own transport costs.
