Hairdressing and Cosmetology Trainer

About the role

The Hairdressing and Cosmetology Trainer will deliver practical and theoretical lessons to youth participants in Lunzu, Blantyre. This full‑time, on‑site position focuses on building employable skills in hairdressing and basic cosmetology.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver structured curricula covering hair care, basic skin and nail care, and hygiene standards.
• Supervise hands‑on practice sessions, ensure safe use of tools and products, and provide individual coaching.
• Prepare training materials, assess learner progress, and maintain equipment and supplies.
• Model professional customer service and collaborate with program staff on mentorship and economic empowerment initiatives.

Required profile

• Diploma in Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy or a cosmetology license from a TEVET‑certified institution, or equivalent Level 2/Level 3 technical certification.
• Proven experience delivering vocational training, preferably to youth or diverse learners.
• Strong communication, interpersonal skills, and commitment to inclusive, gender‑neutral engagement.
• Organizational reliability in maintaining schedules, records, tools, and training spaces.
