Food & Beverage Manager

About the role

The Food & Beverage Manager will lead all culinary, restaurant, beverage and room‑service operations at Protea Hotel by Marriott Lilongwe. Reporting to senior hotel management, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional guest experiences while meeting financial and operational targets.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, monitor and control budgets for all Food & Beverage outlets, ensuring cost‑effectiveness and profitability.
• Lead and supervise the Food & Beverage team, handling day‑to‑day operations and stepping in to perform duties when needed.
• Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene and compliance with local regulations.
• Drive guest satisfaction by promptly addressing concerns and upholding the brand’s service culture.
• Implement continuous improvement initiatives, coaching staff and fostering a collaborative work environment.
• Oversee inventory management, purchasing and vendor relationships for kitchen and bar supplies.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED with at least 4 years of relevant experience, OR a 2‑year degree in Food Service Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, etc., with a minimum of 2 years experience.
• Proven ability to manage budgets, control costs and achieve financial goals.
• Strong leadership and communication skills with a focus on employee engagement.
• Knowledge of local food and beverage laws and regulations.
