Finance Officer

About the role

Pact Malawi is seeking a Finance Officer to support its financial management functions. The role ensures accurate, current, and complete disclosure of financial transactions, maintains effective control of funds and assets, and aligns with donor and organisational policies.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and process payments for activities and trainings as needed.
• Manage and verify all payment request documents from the procurement team.
• Maintain financial documents by scanning, filing, and uploading them to Pact’s OneDrive.
• Post financial transactions into the accounting software Serenic.
• Assist the team in compiling audit documentation and respond to audit queries.
• Review staff advance requests for completeness before forwarding to the Senior Finance Manager.
• Check and follow‑up staff liquidations (travel and other expense reports) to ensure timely processing.
• Monitor monthly staff advance balances and flag large or long‑outstanding advances.
• Review payment vouchers and supporting documents prepared by the Finance Assistant for completeness.

• Ability to maintain and organise financial records.
