Finance Assistant

About the role

WUSC is seeking a Finance Assistant to support its financial operations in Malawi. Working under the Finance Manager, you will help ensure accurate record‑keeping, process transactions, and assist partners with financial reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in preparing the annual budget and tracking expenditures for projects and partners.
• Process accounts payable and receivable, issue invoices, and record grant income and donations.
• Prepare advances and reimbursements for staff and partners, ensuring compliance with policies.
• Liaise with vendors, banks, and partners to resolve payment or account issues.
• Maintain up‑to‑date financial records using the designated accounting system.
• Support reconciliation of partner financial reports and ensure proper documentation.

Required profile

• Proficiency in English.
• Ability to work under supervision and collaborate with project teams.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

What we offer

• Fixed‑term contract from 1 Oct 2026 to 31 Mar 2027 (renewable for one year).
• Salary range of 900,000 – 1,200,000 MWK.
