Field Officer

About the role

Wave is expanding its financial services into Malawi and needs a proactive Field Officer to lead product roll‑outs, build a local agent network, and drive user adoption across the territory.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, recruit and train a network of local agents on Wave applications, contracts, rebalancing options and fraud management.
• Recruit target users and onboard them onto Wave’s payment and money‑transfer products.
• Collaborate with Field Officers in other locations to accelerate product adoption.
• Ensure agents meet legal, policy and branding standards and monitor cash/float availability at each location.
• Conduct routine risk‑assessment visits, report emerging issues and evaluate agent performance.
• Close under‑performing agents, recover Wave equipment and remove branding materials.
• Serve as the primary contact for all agencies acquiring Wave products in the assigned territory.
• Coach, train and mentor distributors, scout new distribution zones and motivate teams to achieve market impact.

Required profile

• Proven ability to manage field operations and product roll‑outs.
• Experience building and supervising an agent or distributor network.
• Strong communication and training skills for onboarding agents and users.
• Capacity to travel extensively within the assigned region.
• Attention to compliance, risk management and branding standards.
