Country Manager & Lodge General Manager (Management Couple) – Malawi

About the role

This unique opportunity is for a management couple to lead a luxury safari and lodge portfolio in Malawi. One partner will serve as Country Manager overseeing three properties, while the other will act as Lodge General Manager responsible for daily operations of the flagship lodge.

Key responsibilities

• Country Manager: Full operational, financial and statutory accountability for the Malawi portfolio, strategic oversight of three properties, multi‑million‑dollar budget management, HR and compliance supervision, and regular inter‑property travel.
• Lodge General Manager: Direct management of the primary lodge’s daily operations, ensuring exceptional guest experience, staff performance, and seamless departmental coordination.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in hospitality, tourism or lodge operations (Country Manager, General Manager or equivalent).
• Demonstrated ability to work and lead teams in remote, multi‑site environments.
• Willingness to relocate long‑term to a remote setting without school‑age children or pets.
• Commitment to a stable, long‑term placement.

Required skills

• Financial literacy with experience managing multi‑million‑dollar budgets.
• Strong knowledge of HR processes and statutory compliance.
• Experience coordinating remote teams across multiple locations.
• Luxury lodge or high‑end tourism operational expertise.

What we offer

• USD 7,500 gross per month (approx. USD 5,250 net).
• Annual flight allowance of USD 1,000 per person.
• On‑site 2‑bedroom house with all meals included.
• Company vehicle provided for the Country Manager.
• Initial flights covered and work permits facilitated (standard 2‑year permit, with interim 6‑month temporary residence permit if needed).
