Child Protection Specialist (NO-3) – Fixed Term

About the role

The Child Protection Specialist will strengthen systems that safeguard children from violence, exploitation, abuse and harmful practices in Malawi. Reporting to the Chief Child Protection, the specialist will provide strategic and technical leadership to improve coordination, case management and service delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design, implementation, monitoring and reporting of child protection programmes.
• Strengthen the social‑service workforce and case‑management systems.
• Coordinate with government counterparts, development partners and civil‑society organisations to align interventions and mobilise resources.
• Engage in policy dialogue, advocacy and high‑level stakeholder negotiations.
• Generate evidence, promote innovation and manage knowledge for programme improvement.
• Provide technical assistance (approximately 2 hours per month) to prevent and respond to child protection risks.
• Support capacity‑building activities for partners and staff.

Required profile

• Dynamic professional with experience in child protection, social services or related programme management.
• Proven ability to work with government agencies, NGOs and international partners.
• Strong analytical, coordination and advocacy skills.
• Experience in evidence‑based approaches and scaling solutions.
