Audit Associate, Assurance

About the role

Join EY's Assurance team as an Audit Associate, supporting clients in meeting reporting requirements and delivering independent perspectives on financial statements. You will gain hands‑on experience across audit engagements, learning how businesses operate while developing professional judgement and technical expertise.

Key responsibilities

• Develop an understanding of clients’ businesses, industries, operating environments and key financial reporting risks.
• Support the planning, execution and completion of external audit engagements under senior guidance.
• Review financial information, test transactions, inspect supporting documents and perform audit procedures in line with the audit approach.
• Prepare clear, accurate and timely audit working papers that document work performed and conclusions reached.
• Use audit technology and data analysis tools to support testing, identify trends and highlight unusual relationships or exceptions.
• Communicate potential audit issues, control observations or unusual findings to senior team members.
• Stay informed of changes in accounting and auditing guidance and assess their impact on audit procedures.
• Demonstrate integrity, confidentiality, professional scepticism and a strong commitment to audit quality.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Auditing, Finance or a related field.
• Professional qualifications such as ACCA, CIMA or ICAM are an advantage.
• Clear commitment to pursuing a professional qualification and building a long‑term career in audit, accounting or finance.
