Project Manager

About the role

World Vision Malawi is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead and oversee development projects that improve the lives of vulnerable children. The role involves planning, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating interventions in line with donor standards and organizational values.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, and monitor project interventions, ensuring alignment with donor and World Vision standards.
• Prepare and submit timely, high‑quality reports to senior managers and support offices.
• Provide leadership in operational planning, budgeting, and financial accountability.
• Oversee logistics, administration, and procurement for project activities.
• Build capacity of partners, district staff, and project teams in financial and program management.
• Develop and maintain partnerships with NGOs, government officials, churches, and community leaders.
• Lead risk management, ensuring compliance with policies, safety of assets, and mitigation of identified risks.
• Manage and develop the project team, handling recruitment, performance reviews, and grievance procedures.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in International Development, Comparative Education, Business Administration, Development Studies, Strategic Management or a related field.
• Proven experience in project planning, monitoring & evaluation, and financial management within an NGO or humanitarian context.
• Strong leadership and people‑management abilities, with a commitment to Christian values and ethical conduct.
