About the role
GiveDirectly Malawi is seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to lead the full HR lifecycle as the organization scales its cash transfer programmes. You will be responsible for building and maintaining HR systems, ensuring compliance with Malawi labour law, and fostering a people‑centred culture that supports high performance and professional growth.
Key responsibilities
- Own end‑to‑end recruitment for all positions, partnering with hiring managers to define requirements and develop sourcing strategies.
- Lead candidate screening, interview coordination, and assessment processes to ensure a respectful and efficient hiring experience.
- Design, implement, and continuously improve a structured onboarding programme for new hires.
- Develop and manage performance management, staff development, and retention initiatives.
- Maintain HR policies, procedures, and documentation in line with local labour regulations.
- Support leadership in upholding GiveDirectly’s values and safeguarding organisational culture.
Required profile
- Demonstrated experience across the full HR lifecycle, preferably in a fast‑growing nonprofit or development context.
- Strong knowledge of Malawi labour law and HR best practices.
- Excellent interpersonal and judgment skills for navigating people and organisational challenges.
- Passion for building inclusive, high‑performing teams.
