National AMR Technical Coordinator – Malawi

About the role

Palladium is seeking a National Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) Technical Coordinator to lead AMR activities in Malawi under the Tackling Deadly Diseases in Africa Programme Phase 2 (TDDAP2). The role is full‑time, fixed‑term (10 months) and will work closely with the country team, consortium partners and the national government to ensure coordinated, high‑quality implementation of AMR interventions.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and support the implementation of AMR governance, surveillance, reporting and laboratory strengthening activities across the programme.
• Collaborate with national ministries, partners and stakeholders to align activities with the One Health, climate‑informed approach.
• Ensure technical quality of deliverables and facilitate capacity‑building for sustainable outcomes.
• Monitor progress, capture lessons learned and contribute to programme reporting and close‑out.
• Represent Palladium in meetings with government officials, donors and implementing partners.

Required profile

• Proven experience in antimicrobial resistance, public health or related fields.
• Familiarity with One Health approaches and multisectoral coordination.
• Experience in surveillance systems, laboratory capacity building, and health security initiatives.
• Strong ability to work with government agencies and international partners.
• Eligibility to live and work in Malawi.
