Finance Associate (G-6) – Fixed Term – Lilongwe, Malawi

About the role

The Finance Associate will support UNICEF Malawi’s financial accountability and operational efficiency. Reporting to the Budget & Finance Specialist, you will deliver high‑quality finance and accounting services that enable effective programme delivery for children.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and analyse accurate financial information, reports and reconciliations.
• Ensure compliance with UNICEF financial policies and procedures.
• Maintain audit‑ready records and resolve discrepancies promptly.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to provide guidance on financial processes.
• Support budgeting, treasury, expense management and financial analysis activities.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency.

Required profile

• Completion of secondary education.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in financial management, accounting, accounts payable/receivable, budgeting, treasury or related fields.
