Supply & Procurement Officer (NO-2) – Fixed Term – Lilongwe

About the role

UNICEF is seeking a Supply & Procurement Officer (NO‑2) on a fixed‑term basis to strengthen its procurement and supply‑chain functions in Lilongwe, Malawi. Reporting to the Supply and Logistics Specialist, the officer will support supply planning, sourcing strategies, long‑term arrangements and procurement services, ensuring timely delivery of goods and services for programme implementation.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in supply planning and implementation to meet programme needs.
• Conduct market research, develop sourcing strategies and manage long‑term procurement arrangements.
• Provide procurement services to government partners and implementing partners, including offshore procurement.
• Monitor procurement pipelines, supplier performance and contract compliance.
• Strengthen internal controls, risk management and anti‑fraud measures.
• Support emergency preparedness and rapid procurement response.
• Coach and supervise junior team members to ensure performance standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Economics, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Law, International Development, Public Health, Social Science or related fields.
• Minimum of two years of relevant experience in supply management, procurement, supply planning, vendor assessment, risk management or performance monitoring.
• Ability to provide technical guidance to government counterparts and implementing partners.
• Strong understanding of UNICEF procurement policies and procedures.
