Technical Advisor II – Integrated Early Childhood Development

About the role

The Integrated Early Childhood Development Advisor II will serve as the subject‑matter expert for child protection, care and development systems in Malawi. Leveraging specialized technical expertise, the Advisor will support project implementation, system strengthening, capacity development and learning to improve outcomes for vulnerable children and families.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical advice, guidance and leadership on integrated childhood development, ensuring strategies, tools and training reflect current evidence and country context.
• Assist government, civil society, faith‑based and community actors to develop, adapt and implement policies, regulations, standards, SOPs, tools and guidance at national and sub‑national levels.
• Strengthen capacity and implementation quality through coaching, training, supportive supervision and technical troubleshooting for project teams and partners.
• Coordinate integrated project delivery across technical areas, working closely with global technical counterparts, resource partners, MEAL and implementation teams.
• Support MEAL activities to capture, interpret and use technically relevant data for adaptive learning.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in child protection, early childhood development or related sectors.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively with government, NGOs, faith‑based and community stakeholders.
• Experience in capacity building, training delivery and technical supervision.
• Strong understanding of Malawi’s policy and service delivery context.
• Excellent communication and analytical skills.
