Finance Associate (G-6) – Fixed Term – Lilongwe

About the role

UNICEF Malawi is seeking a Finance Associate (G-6) to strengthen financial accountability and operational efficiency. Reporting to the Budget & Finance Specialist, you will support a wide range of finance activities that enable programme delivery for children.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review financial statements, reports and reconciliations.
• Process accounts payable, accounts receivable and expense claims in compliance with UNICEF policies.
• Assist with budgeting, treasury operations and cash management.
• Provide guidance on financial procedures to internal teams and external partners.
• Maintain audit‑ready records and support internal and external audits.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency.

Required profile

• Minimum secondary education.
• At least 6 years of experience in financial management, accounting, budgeting, treasury or related fields.
• Demonstrated ability to work accurately under tight deadlines.
